Creeks of Timber Brook In Plano
Creeks of Timber Brook is a residential neighborhood in Plano Texas on the eastern side of town just south of the city of Allen Texas. This community of newer homes is desirable for its great location near major roadways and several of Plano's most desirable hotspots. Young families also enjoyed the location within the Plano independent school district boundaries allowing their children to attend some of the best schools in the area.
Near the Neighborhood
Oak Point
The Oak Point Nature Preserve is the largest park in Plano. The park encompasses 800 acres and hosts several Plano community celebrations. Oak Point Nature Preserve is on the north border of Bob Woodruff Park. Every year the town's Fourth of July fireworks can be seen from homes in Creeks at Timber Brook that are set off in the park amphitheater. Oak Point Nature Park Reserve is also the home of the Plano Balloon Festival or Baloonfest an impressive event where several hot air balloons are launched into the sky.
The park is home to a series of great nature trails as well as very calm bodies of water that are great for kayaking and paddle boarding. It is an amazing place to enjoy nature and feel like you have escaped city life.
Bob Woodruff
Bob Woodruff Park is a few minutes south of the neighborhood. It is most notable as the home of the Quincentennial Bur Oak tree in the southern portion of the park. The tree is said to be about 500 years old and one of the quirky spots of interest in Plano. Some Plano residents still come to the park to grab the fresh pecans that fall from the tree in the fall season.
In addition to this famous landmark of Plano, the park is also home to the Bob Woodruff Park Trail which is paved and great for skating, walking, biking, and is even wheelchair friendly. There is also a fun play structure for kids.
Bethany Lakes
Bethany Lakes Park is located in the city of Allen but is just minutes from the neighborhood. Bethany Lakes is made up of 40 acres with several small lakes throughout the park. There are several amenities at Bethany Lakes including the Joe Farmer Recreation Center, a disc golf course, an amphitheater, a baseball field, hiking and biking trails, a playground, and several areas of opening outdoor space.
Shops at Watters Creek Village
A few minutes north of the neighborhood on the southwest corner of the intersection of I-75 and W Bethany is the mixed-use development of Watters Creek Village or Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm. This shopping center holds several stores and some residential homes. There are several great retailers and restaurants in this open-air village-style shopping mall. Some of the shops include Kendra Scott, Loft, Sunglass Hut, Vera Bradley, Eddie Bauer, Gymboree, White House Black Market, and Origins. This is a very fun spot to eat out with many outdoor dining options, some overlooking the creek and village green space. You can find CruFood and Wine Bar, Frogg Cafe and Creperie near the creek, The Blue Fish, Bonnie Ruth's Bistro, and much more.
Shopping Along I-75
A few blocks west of the community is I-75 a major anchor for business and modern amenities in Plano. You can find grocery stores like the Walmart Supercenter, restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, and Mr. Tofu, convenience stores like 7-Eleven, coffee shops like 85 Degrees Celcius, and much more.
Access to Dallas
If you are looking for some big-city fun and amenities, Dallas is an easy trip south via Interstate 75. There is very quick and easy access to Interstate 75 from the neighborhood traveling west. Dallas is one of the largest cities in Texas offering countless activities, more job opportunities, and much more.
Public Schools for Creeks of Timber Brook
The public schools that serve the youngest residents living in Creeks of Timber Brook are part of the Plano Independent Public School District. This school district is well known for many great schools. The youngest members of the neighborhood attend McCall Elementary School, Bowman Middle School, Plano East Senior High School, and Williams High School. Many of these schools receive above-average ratings from the website Niche.com.
