Cimarron Neighborhood in Plano

Cimarron is a residential neighborhood in Plano texas of single family homes. It is nicley located in the heart of Plano with several parks, dining, shopping, and easy access to I-75 nearby. Homes are also located within the highly desirable Plano school district. 

Things to Do Nearby

Bob Woodruff Park

Bob Woodruff Park is within walking distance of Cimarron. It is about a block east of the neighborhood. The park it is most notable as the home of the Quincentennial Bur Oak tree in the southern portion of the park. This tree is quite possibly one of the oldest in the city of Plano and has recorded history of about 500 years. It's some Plano residence still come to the park to clean the fresh pecans that fall from the tree in the fall season.

In addition to this famous landmark of Plano the park is also home to the Bob Woodruff Park Trail which is paved and great for skating, walking, biking, and even is wheelchair friendly. There is also a fun play structure.

Oak Point Nature Reserve

The Oak Point Nature Preserve is the largest and most prominent park in the town of Plano. This park spans 800 acres and is host to several of the Plano communities celebrations and festivities. Oak Point Nature Preserve is just north of the Bob Woodruff Park. It is fun to see the town Fourth of July fireworks that are set off in the park amphitheater from the comfort of your own home or make a few minutes trip to enjoy the festivities in person. Oak Point  is also the home of the Plano Balloon Festival or Baloonfest which is another popular Plano festival.

The park is home to a series of great nature trails as well as very calm bodies of water that are great for kayaking and paddle boarding. It is amazing place to enjoy nature and feel like you have escaped city life for a while.

Shopping/Retail

THere are several modern amenties located just minutes from Cimarron. There is a Walmart next to Bob Woodruff on Park. There is Kroger store a little further south on 14th and Los Rios. A block from Kroger is Jimmys Big Burger. And if you head west about 5 to 10 minutes you can find a collection of stores and restaurants near to I-75

City of Dallas

Dallas Texas is one of the largest cities in the biggest state in America. There is no shortage of fun things to do from live entertainment, to nightlife, to restaurants, to outdoor recreation, to sporting events, shopping, and so much more. Dallas can be easily accessed by heading south on interstate 75 it's just over 20 minutes from Plano. 

Public Schools

The public schools assigned to the Cimaroon neighborhood are part of the Plano Independent School District. The Plano school district has long been a highly sought-after school district for many young families to be a part of. This is one of the reasons the town of Plano is so desirable to live in. All of the schools receive average to above-average ratings from the GreatSchools website.
