Up until Christmas Eve Santa will be in the lower levels of Macy's court at the Shops at Willow Bend to take pictures with all of his favorite Plano residents. It is not required that you make reservations to see Santa but it is recommended to ensure that you will get some time with the big guy.
Lights on the Farm
If you enjoy a good Christmas light display you want to check out Lights on the Farm happening from Thanksgiving weekend through December 30 on the weekends. For this fun event, the farmstead is turned into a wonderland of millions of Holiday lights including animated displays. There is a quarter-mile trail to walk and take in all of the amazing lights. Enjoy some popcorn and mini donuts as well as s'mores and hot cocoa. Santa Claus will also be in attendance for fun holiday pictures.
Photos with Santa at Legacy East
Starting Thanksgiving weekend through December 23 take a visit with Santa while you are shopping at the shops at Legacy East. You can book an appointment at the Santa boutique studio which is located at Kilwins to get professional quality Santa photos.
Small business pop-ups at the Mistletoe Mall at Legacy West
Check out some fun small boutique shops with pop-up booths throughout the shopping center on special days throughout the month of December leading up to Christmas. The shops will be located in the Starbucks breezeway Thursday through Sunday from noon to 6 PM.
The Deerfield neighborhood holiday lights display
This is not your ordinary holiday light display. If you would like to get a taste of the true culture of Plano Texas you have to drive through the Deerfield neighborhood and experience the light displays set up by the homeowners in the neighborhood. This is an iconic Plano tradition. Throughout December you can enjoy the lights from 7 to 10 PM on weekdays and 7 to 11 PM on weeknights. People come from all over northern Texas to see this light display.
Elf Junior at Willow Bend Center for the Arts
If you enjoy a good live play performance you should come check out Elf Junior at the Willow Bend Center for the Arts. The play will have several performances from December 1 through the third and December 7 through the ninth. For information about ticket costs and exact showtimes check out the event website.
A Christmas Story Play at Art Center Theater
Enjoy the Christmas classic made into a Broadway-style play at the Art Center Theater on various dates and times from December 1-17. Nobody can resist that goofy old-timey Christmas story of Ralphie asking for a Red Ryder BB gun.
The holiday parade in Plano
Nothing is more fun than a community holiday parade. The parade kicks off the city festivities in the Plano area. This year the parade is on December 2 starting at 2 PM and the theme is Marches of Toys. The parade is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Plano.
Dickens in downtown Plano
This fine community event is free on December 2 from 4 PM to 9 PM in the historic downtown Plano Arts District. It is a family-friendly event that happens every year complete with a snow slide, an appearance by Santa, a coffee and cocoa walk, a children's entrepreneur market, and the Plano tree lighting. Downtown stores stay open later hours so that you can get in that holiday shopping. Dickens takes place in Haggard Park, McCall Plaza, and a section of 15th St. You can park for free at the Plano municipal center.
