Wellington Run in Plano Texas

Wellington Run is a residential neighborhood of Plano Texas it is located off of Tennyson Parkway surrounded by Camden Legacy Park on the west, Wellington at Preston Meadows on the north, Jefferson Heights to the northwest corner, Stone Creek to the south, and Archgate Park to the east.

The main entrance to the neighborhood can be found at Tennyson Parkway and Ohio Drive. Ohio Drive runs almost through the center of the neighborhood. Wellington Run is made up predominantly of residential single-family properties. It is highly desirable for its location right next to great parks and quick and easy access via Ohio Drive straight to the Sam Rayburn Tollway/Highway 121 which gives access to many other areas of Texas while retaining a quiet suburban atmosphere.

Things to Do near Wellington Run

Archgate Park

Archgate Park is a great multi-use recreational area in Plano that is within walking distance from the Wellington Run neighborhood. It has some of the nicest softball and baseball fields in the area. There are also nine soccer fields in the park. This makes for an easy spot to watch young ones play their favorite game. The park also features multiple playgrounds and walking trails as well as a small pond, basketball courts, plenty of green space, and more.

Promontory on Preston Shopping Mall

The Promontory on Preston Shopping Mall is just a few minutes south of Wellington Run on the southeast corner of Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway. Residents of Wellington Run can access the shopping center by traveling south on Ohio Drive. The major retail store anchoring the shopping center is Kohl's. The area plans to expand with more retail space to bring in more shopping opportunities.

Carpenter Park

Carpenter Park is one of the largest and most well-known parks in town. It has been around since 1990. The recreation center at Carpenter Park is very popular for physical activity with several sports fields and courts and a newly opened swimming pool. The park also offers some outdoor green space to enjoy at your leisure.

Marketplace at Spring Creek 

The Marketplace at Spring Creek is a large neighborhood shopping center that is anchored by a sizable grocery store. This shopping center is expansive with plenty of dining, shopping, fast food, and other services. Some of the most popular include Dollar Tree, Texas Family Fitness, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Patel Brothers, Walmart, and Whataburger.

Schools

The public schools serving Wellington Run are part of the Plano Independent Public School District. Wellington Run is nicely located just west of two public schools Jasper High School and Robinson Middle School which are located right next to each other north of Archgate Park.
